A strong foundation for professional coaching
MCC recognizes highly experienced coaches who can consistently demonstrate the ICF Core Competencies at the highest level.
It represents extensive coaching experience, advanced professional development & a deep commitment to reflective, ethical coaching practice.
MCC is optimal for PCC coaches who are:
- Experienced & ready to demonstrate coaching mastery, and
- Continuing to deepen an established professional coaching practice.

YOUR MCC PATHWAY
Education
Complete at least 200 hours of advanced coaching education.
At MCC level, education builds on the substantial knowledge and development already gained throughout your coaching career.
Experience
Build at least 2,500 hours of extensive coaching experience, including at least 2,250 paid hours.
The scale of the experience requirement reflects the depth of professional practice expected at MCC level.
Mentor Coaching
Complete the required 10 hours of mentor coaching.
For the Portfolio route, ICF requires this mentor coaching to be undertaken with an MCC credentialed coach, over at least three months.
Assessment/Exam
Complete the required performance evaluation & achieve a passing score on the ICF Credentialing Exam.
The assessment is designed to demonstrate coaching at the level expected of an MCC.

The ICF currently provides two MCC application routes
Level 3
For coaches who have completed an ICF accredited Level 3 coaching education programme.
Portfolio
For coaches meeting the MCC education requirements through other accredited & non-accredited coaching education.
